Quality control is at the heart of the electronics industry; indeed, it’s critical in areas such as aerospace and military. It’s also at the heart of Ridgeway. That’s why every member of our staff fully embraces our commitment to quality, and its importance to our clients. So as you’d expect, we’re fully accredited to internationally recognised standards, comply with every applicable law and regulation and our quality is continually monitored. But rather than stop there, we constantly look for any way we can improve it even further.
Some would say quality – and quality management – is now the single most important factor in choosing a supplier in the electronics industry. Over the years, it’s become less of a ‘commodity’ market and much more focused on traceability of products, ensuring they and the suppliers all meet a minimum standard.
That’s why at Ridgeway, quality is inherent in everything we do. It’s continually monitored and improved. We make sure we’re up to date with all the latest accreditations and regulations too, and with future industry developments. That way, we can fully support our clients through any changes and continue to work closely with both them and our suppliers to establish the very highest quality standards.
Ridgeway Components is an independent distributor of electronics components and as such is classed as an importer or distributor of “articles” as defined in REACH Article 3(3).
This statement reflects Ridgeway Components’ understanding of the applicability of European Union Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the council of 18 December 2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Registration of Chemicals (REACH) to Ridgeway Components’ operations.
Ridgeway Components does not manufacture any of the components it sells and does not add any chemicals during the handling process – Ridgeway Components’ business practice is solely in the distribution of electronic components.
Products sold by Ridgeway Components are “articles” as defined in REACH Article 3(3). There is no intended release of substances from the products, under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions of use, therefore the requirement in REACH Article 7 (1)(b) to register substances contained in articles and intended to be released under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions of use does not apply.
Chemicals used in the components or the manufacturing of components sold by Ridgeway Components are used at the discretion of the manufacturer and relevant requirements of the REACH Regulation remain the responsibility of the manufacturer.
Ridgeway Components will continually monitor the situation and act accordingly to any changes in legislation.
